Dana at BlogSavant posted a nice little summary of the AMA event I’m at today. I love his description on the company’s about page. Going into this event I felt fairly confident that I knew the in’s and out’s of blogging – which I do, it turns out, from a technical and basic process perspective. But I was (largely still am) searching around for real marketing discipline behind blogging. Most of blogging is of course focused on the technical community, which is where the early, viral adopter live (mostly). Same goes with RSS and syndication.

Dana provided an excellent presentation outlining key trends and new ways marketing is starting to capitalize on the emergence of all these new techs (e.g. how do you track metrics in order to sell blogs up to your management?). Embedding ads in RSS feeds (cool but wildy controversial), monetizing the feeds, etc. Either attend one of the next AMA sessions (it ain’t cheap, so try and get your company to pick up the tab) to hear his bit, or let’s work on Dana to publish a tutorial in his blog!

Lots to write up on the subject…trying to find time…
