At first I was cringing when the guy in the bee costume jumped on stage (reaction: oh please, not in front of THIS audience, they’ll rip us apart!). It was a promo for the new Microsoft community site – The Hive. But it worked…actually pretty funny stuff, even planted bees in the audience for questions. Lots of good laughs.

For a blatant marketing promo in front of a very tough crowd, that was done well.
