Then he called him to matt for supporting some standard or other, so Dare’s up on stage. Something he wasn’t really expecting. :)

Serious back and forth between the guys on stage and Winer. Winer won this one, IMO. Lots of laughs, because there is some serious ripping going on.

Steve Gillmor is hammering on the issue of who is going to get behind creating a standard for portability of your RSS feed subscriptions. Bloglines API isn’t the answer (proprietary lock in). Same rip on NG. Winer is hitting on why Yahoo doesn’t step up and do this. Gillmor is hitting on why Google (in the form of Adam Bosworth) can’t deliver. Winer asks is it up to Microsoft to do this? Not technically hard (so they say), just needs a vendor with deep pockets.

I have no clue how hard or easy this is, but I know the pain WELL.
