Civilization IV promo video/gameplay + CivAnon.org: “Break the cycle of Civ addiction”

To my wife and new daughter, I apologize. When this game comes out, you may not see me for quite some time. The Civ franchise has consumed more hours of my life over the past 10+ years than anything next to sleep, and that’s a close run. I think I actually gave up on dating freshman year in college in order to play Civ (yeah, that’s why I didn’t get dates…).

I’ve been meaning to write a “Civ3: How I Love Thee” tribute, but with Civ4 coming out, that apparently needs to wait. The graphics are fantastic, the gameplay looks even better. I am not a huge gamer, barely touch consoles…my passion is largely saved for strategy games like this, and Civ is the Holy Grail of the genre.

I…I…I’m deeply afraid of the impact on my life when this ships. CivAnon, where do you meet next?
