You would think that, by this stage, the PR and marketing execs at FedEx would be taking their legal teams out to the woodshed for going psycho on a die hard fan of the company. Or the CEO would be taking the PR and marketing execs to their own woodshed for not taking control here.

Wired ran an article, which apparently flooded the poor guy’s site. Interesting claim they make in their cease and desist letter:

FedEx also said in the Aug. 3 letter that Avila clearly intended to operate a business from his website because he used the .com domain suffix, the “commercial level domain,” rather than .net.

“There is absolutely no rule, regulation or law that says that,” Gelman replied.

So “clearly” I’m running a business from this site, since I had the nerve to use “.com” in the domain name. The order form for the revolutionary “seattleducks” will be available within the week.
