Off to the Online Community Camp
Heading off to San Francisco early (as in 6am flight…ugh) tomorrow for the Online Community Camp. Not even spending the night – 7pm flight right back (saves on packing at least).
Based on the growing attendee list and ideas for discussion topics, I’ve got high hopes that this will be a worthwhile trip.
“Community” as my job is defined tends to be less focused on the classic idea of online communities (community sites, tools, forums, etc) and a bit more on a broader concept which includes a lot of local community events, 1:1 relationships, and so on. And all with a marketing angle of course. I proudly wear the “Scarlet ‘M’” of the much maligned marketer! :-)
So I think I’m less interested in the platform and tools discussions, and a bit more on marketing, the intersection of online and offline community, facilitation techniques, and reputation/ranking.
If anyone else is attending the event and wants to chat up on these, or anything specific to Windows Live and communities, drop me a note! kevinbriody at hotmail dot com.

Kevin, I hope you can share your notes as the wiki you referred to is a private one. So in this case community= private! :-)
[...] Note – it seems the wiki for the event is private, which Nancy White pointed out in a comment. I have no clue why it’s so, yes, that does have a hint of irony about it. [...]
