Marketing Roundup – PubSub struggling and more!

June 7, 2006 in: marketing, unsorted|Jump To Comments
  • TechCrunch says that PubSub is badly struggling, with layoffs, swapping CEOs, etc. Too bad – I originally was a big fan of PubSub for tracking the blogosphere, but I slowly found the search feeds to be polluted or irrelevant, and switched first to Feedster and eventually to Technorati (which more or less has taken over mindshare around blog search these days).
  • Brand Autopsy refers to a Booz Allen Hamilton study on the “Six Degrees of Marketing Organizations”. I would place the groups I work in in the 3, 4, and 5 range somewhere. How would you classify your org?
  • Tara Hunt (aka Miss Rogue aka horsepigcow) has taken the plunge and left Riya. Strike while the iron is hot, and Tara has done a bang up job of creating a brand around herself and the Pinko Marketing concept (I still don’t like the name, but hey, it’s catchy and controversial, which usually help make the book deal! :-)). Good luck to her!
  • Coolz0r (who has a fantastic blog on marketing and advertising in Europe, btw) has a somewhat-not-safe-for-work description of a smart TV channel banking on the current football obsession sweeping Europe during World Cup.
