I could have sworn that was Aero on Vista
Chris Pirillo links to this video of what is apparently a Linux distro with KDE or Gnome (I have no clue – haven’t played with Linux in years, though I need to now obviously). Damn that’s pretty.

The only problem is, I can’t seem to get it installed. Oh, the wonders of Linux. ;)
seattleduck: XGL isn’t included by default in any of the major distros (its still considered experimental) and might be difficult to get running depending on your hardware, but if you feel like doing a little tweaking you should be able to get results quite similar to the video :)
My suggestion is that if you want to play with Linux, start with Ubuntu (http://www.ubuntu.com/) Boot from the ‘Desktop CD’ and you can play with the entire OS without touching your HD. Since you haven’t tried Linux in a while I think you’ll be happy to see how far its gotten :)
I’ve heard so many good things about Ubuntu I think I may just have to give it a shot. I actually have an old laptop I was going to wipe with a clean XP install, maybe that should be my play box…
