Over the past 6-12 months I’ve become more and more interested in what’s going on in Washington, and the various dramas unfolding there. As a result I picked up a fair number of subscriptions to political blogs of the progressive/left-leaning variety (Daily Kos, Crooks and Liars, Glenn Greenwald, etc) and put them on the top of my daily must-read list right next to TechDirt, various marketing and other work-related blogs.

However it’s time for some spring cleaning – I’d like to get involved with some of the political causes I’ve become passionate about, as I firmly believe the next couple of election cycles could dramatically impact this country, but I also need to clear my head (and my time) to re-focus on my career and some budding side projects (or “slash careers”). Following big trends and topics is one thing, but deeply following the myriad scandals and goings on in the political world just can consume me for hours on end – not the right use of my time at the moment.

So my “Politics” folder in Feeddemon is toast for now, along with all the many well-worn feeds it contained. About 50-60 other unrelated feeds also bit the dust in the process.

I feel relieved already, in some odd way.
