News of the Strange: Duckfest 2008

You find all kinds of odd things thanks to Google. Take Duckfest 2008 – when looking for some images of rubber duckies (long story), I came across an entire site dedicated to the collection of the little yellow guys. Now I have an emotional attachment to ducks thanks to attending the University of Oregon way back when, but this is still impressive in a wow-that’s-some-fanatic-collecting kind of way.

Turns out there is a “Duckfest 2008″ – a collectors gathering – next month in my own backyard, Marysville WA.  It’s billed as “the only rubber duck convention in the world” and I have no doubt that claim would stand up to scrutiny. You’ve got to love someone dedicated to their hobby.
