When my blogging went south

Browsing through my archives last night, I noticed there were two distinct points in time when my post volume basically fell off a cliff: Fall 2006 and Summer/Fall 2007. Why?

Well, Summer/Fall 2007 can be explained by a job transition. I left Microsoft for the second time, wrapping up a total of seven years at the Big Softie, to head to my current employer. With the move came a need to really focus on the new role and the entirely new industry, and blogging here fell by the wayside.

What made me both laugh and cringe though is the likely cause of the Fall 2006 drop – that the date I can trace my first character being created in that soul-sucking MMORPG, EVE Online.

FuriousMallard went on to become a top flight command ship pilot with crazy pulse laser skills, but damn if my blogging didn’t get caught in the crossfire. One geeky activity displacing another…nice.
