iPhone app to access the DC Public Library catalog
The potential utility of the iPhone continues to impress – check out this new application (direct link in iTunes) that basically opens up the OPAC for the Washington DC Public Library catalog for iPhone users. It’s clean and direct, which is what you need from a mobile app when so many get bogged down in feature-driven complexity.
Aaron Schmidt, the Digital Initiatives Librarian (cool title BTW) for the library talks, outlines the features:
* searching for library materials
* seeing an item’s cover and reading a summary
* placing a hold for pickup at the location of your choice
* finding the hours, locations and phone numbers of DC public libraries
Nice stuff. Image copy/pasted from Aaron’s post. Found via Jessamyn West (librarian.net).
