The Social Media Club Seattle meetup last night was a packed house, and a bit of a trip down memory lane for me as I got to poke around Microsoft campus again (I left almost 2 years ago, only been back three times!).

Congratulations to Chris Heuer, Kevin, Tamara, Marcus from Microsoft and everyone who pulled the event together. I’ll be watching the site for the Seattle-side event planned for March.

It was great touching base with a few old friends, and also met some interesting new ones. Always a good sign – even if I had to bail out before the after-party. I also enjoyed testing out meeting notetaking using the Evernote app on my iPhone, and overall was pleased. Obviously the notes were thumb-worthy shorthand, but all the notes were waiting back home on my MacBook and my Vista box – something that should come in handy down the road.

Speaking of those notes, they are telling me to reread Forrester’s POST report, start using the term “gisting” as a replacement for “messaging” (love that…), and get more familiar with link tracking tools like Bit.ly for Twitter.

Off I go…
